SEO Client Reporting to Show What You Did and What It Earned
For SEO agencies who want clients to stay past month six.
Lumea Direct is SEO client reporting software built inside a working SEO agency. Each monthly report shows the client's Google numbers, the pages your team published, and their new leads. You approve it, then send one link.
A strong month. Two new service pages went live, and calls from Google rose again.
It's the 3rd, and you're pasting charts into a slide deck for the fourth client this week. The client skims it, sees rankings, and asks what they're paying for. Nothing on the slides shows the pages your team wrote or the calls those pages brought in. In Lumea, the report shows both, right next to the numbers.
What Goes Into a Lumea Client Report?
A Lumea client report holds 7 sections, in the same order every month. It opens with a summary and ends with next month's plan. In between sit the new leads and their value, the Google numbers, and the pages your team published.
- 01SummaryA few lines on how the month went
- 02Customers and ValueNew leads, how many became customers, and their estimated value
- 03Leads by ChannelWhere the leads came from
- 04Google VisibilitySearch Console and Google Business Profile numbers, with arrows
- 05TrendsHow the numbers moved over time
- 06What Went LiveThe month's published work, each with its link
- 07Next MonthWhat your team plans to do next
Sections with nothing to show hide on their own, so a quiet month never shows a table of zeros. You also pick the word for customers. A dental client's report can say patients, while a roofer's says customers, and you can set it per business.
How Does the Report Show the Work Your Team Published?
Lumea's report lists every page your team published this month, under What Went Live. Each item with a URL is a live link, so the client clicks through to the new page. The list comes from your Deliverables, so nobody retypes it. A busy month shows up to 12 items per category, then a count of the rest.
Most reports show numbers and leave the client to guess what the agency did all month. A client who can open the 3 new pages you wrote doesn't have to guess. They click through and see their own business on a page your writer built last week.
Next Month then shows what's coming, so the client sees the plan before they ask for it. Together, the two sections answer the renewal-call question. What am I paying you for? The answer sits in the report every month, with links.
- Two new service pages: veneers and teeth whitening
- Four Google posts and ten new citations
- Schema on every service page

How Does the Report Show What SEO Earned?
Every Lumea report shows the client's new leads from their website this month. It also shows how many became customers. Estimated value equals customers won times the average customer value the client gave you. So 4 new customers at $1,200 each shows as $4,800.
Leads by Channel shows where each lead came from, so the client sees search working next to their other sources. Website form emails and GoHighLevel forms land in the client's lead tracker on their own. Each one arrives with the name, phone, and service filled in. The value uses the average the client gives you, and a note on the report names it. Without an average on file, the dollar figure stays hidden instead of showing the client a guess.
Estimated value uses an average patient value of $1,200, given by the practice.

How Does Lumea Know If a Number Got Better?
Lumea judges each number by which direction is good for it, not by whether it went up. Average position is the one most reports get wrong. When a client moves from position 6.7 to 2.3, the number drops by 4.4. Lumea shows the move as 4.4 better, with a teal arrow.
The top of Google Visibility counts real gains in one line. It reads like "5 of 7 measures improved from last month," and clients read it first. A position gain counts, and a position loss never sneaks in as a win.
Once a client passes month two, a Since we started note shows how far they've come. It compares this month to the month they signed, which matters most in months four through six. Those are the months when clients start asking whether SEO is working.

What Does a Bad Month Look Like in the Report?
A bad month in Lumea shows a gray down arrow next to the real number, never red. If average position slips from 2.3 to 6.7, the report says 4.4 lower. Red looks like an emergency, and your agency is the one sending it. Gray tells the truth without setting off alarms.
Show the real number, say what caused it, and say what you're doing next month about it. Never hide the drop, never blame Google, and never promise it won't happen again.
How Long Does a Monthly SEO Report Take?
A monthly client report takes about 5 minutes in Lumea, down from about 35 by hand. One click pulls every client's Search Console numbers. You type in the Google Business Profile numbers until Google approves the connection for Lumea. The leads and published pages are already there.
At 20 clients, you get about 10 hours back every month. Those are the hours you used to spend in screenshots and slide decks at the start of each month. Now they go to client work, or to your evenings.
Build a report before the month ends, and Lumea warns you. Google's numbers lag 2 to 3 days. Some agencies send a mid-month report on purpose, and Lumea lets you send it anyway after the warning.
Per client report, with Search Console numbers pulled in one click.
Per client, with screenshots, a slide deck, and a list of the month's work.
Every month, in time you used to spend building reports.
How Do You Send the Report and See It Was Opened?
In Lumea, you generate a draft, approve it, then send the client one link by email. Nothing goes out until you approve it. After it's sent, you can copy the link, turn it off, or reopen the report to fix a typo. The screen shows how many times the report was opened, across all sends.
- Generate draft: Lumea builds the report from this month's numbers, leads, and work
- Preview: see exactly what the client will see
- Approve: lock it in, so nobody changes it by mistake
- Send: email one link to every contact you pick
- Opened count: see how many times it was opened, and when
A link is easier on the client than a PDF attachment. It opens on a phone, keeps the live links working, and never gets lost in a download folder. If someone forwards it to the wrong person, you turn the link off in one click.

Why Don't Dashboard Tools Show What the Client Paid For?
Dashboard tools like AgencyAnalytics, DashThis, and Swydo report Google numbers well. What they can't see is the work your team did or the leads it brought in. The table below shows 6 questions a client asks every month, and where each answer lives today.
| What the client asks | A dashboard tool | Lumea |
|---|---|---|
| Did my rankings improve? | Yes, charts and tables | Yes, judged the right way for each number |
| What did you do this month? | Typed in by hand, if at all | What Went Live, with links |
| Did SEO bring me leads? | Only if you connect a form tool | New leads from the website |
| What were those leads worth? | Rarely shown | Estimated value from your average |
| What's the plan next month? | A notes box | Next Month, in every report |
| What does a bad month look like? | Red numbers | A gray arrow and the real number |
Lumea's report comes from the same account where your team plans and finishes the work. So it already knows what went live. You don't connect a second tool or copy a list between apps to show what you did.

Send a Report Your Client Reads to the End
Michael Gleed built Lumea Direct inside his own SEO agency, and his client reports go out from it every month. He wanted one report showing the work, the numbers, and the leads, without an afternoon of screenshots. You get the same report on day one of your trial.
The payoff is a client who knows what they're paying for. They see the new pages and the leads those pages brought in, every month, in one link. When a month slips, they see an honest number.

Questions About SEO Client Reports
What is SEO reporting?
SEO reporting is the monthly summary an agency sends a client about their search results and the work behind them. Most reports start with numbers from Google Search Console. It's a free Google tool, and it measures a site's search traffic and performance. A strong report adds the published work and the new leads, and Lumea puts all three behind one link.
How do you make an SEO report for a client?
Start with the client's search numbers for the month. Google's Search Console Performance report gives you clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position. Compare each one to last month. Then add the work you finished, the leads, a summary, and next month's plan.
What is the best tool for SEO reporting?
For local clients, pair Search Console with the client's Google Business Profile numbers. Google says a Business Profile shows insights on calls, reviews, bookings, and the keywords people search to find a business. Pick a tool to put those numbers in one report with your work and the client's leads. Lumea does it in one account, and it adds the pages your team published.
Do AI Overviews show up in an SEO report?
Yes, inside the Search Console numbers. Google says sites shown in AI Overviews and AI Mode are counted in Search Console. They're part of the Performance report, under the Web search type. So clicks and impressions from AI answers already sit in the totals, not on a line of their own. Lumea's one-click pull brings them into the report with everything else.
How often should you send an SEO report?
Send one full report every month, on about the same day. SEO results move slowly, so a weekly report mostly shows day-to-day noise instead of real change. The SBA's guide to managing your business suggests reviewing each part of a business on a steady schedule. For an agency, a monthly report per client is the schedule to keep.
